The need for culturally tailored support for young people
There is a need for age appropriate and culturally senstive services to tackle mental health when it come to BAME communities.
Young people are faced with barriers as the community does not talk about mental health and often refer to it as cultural/religious stigma.
Changing life directions works with schools, hold centre based and outreach services, promote mental health through community engagement with BAME families.
Our Arts for Health and Well-being aims to work towards developing and implementing creative art based activities, training and volunteering opportunities and discussions with qualified staff for young people and adults who are, or maybe at risk of expeiencing mental health difficulties.
